MAKING A CAREER COMEBACK
Many lawyers, especially women, find themselves needing to temporarily step away from their careers at some point in order to address other life priorities, especially as it relates to caring for children and other family members. However, when it comes time to resume their careers, many struggle to find well-paid, high quality opportunities with the flexibility they require. The result is that many talented, well-trained lawyers hoping to resurrect their careers feel stifled and lack a distinct plan for the best path forward.
This half-day workshop will help attorneys who are looking to return to their careers to prepare for and navigate the “on ramp” back to the practice of law given the current legal landscape. This program will provide insight into the real reasons many attorneys leave their careers and what really gets in the way of their return. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore potential career paths and learn how to position themselves with potential employers. Through a variety of awareness activities and skill-building exercises, this program will also help attendees learn to promote their value more effectively and mobilize their networks to help them launch a successful comeback.
PROFESSIONAL COACHING FOR WOMEN ATTORNEYS

This presentation demonstrates how women attorneys’ lives and careers can benefit from working with a professional coach to become more self-aware, intentional, confident and empowered. This discussion will also highlight research on key barriers and critical success factors for women attorneys conducted by Dr. Cruz, as well as why the coaching process works and how it can serve as a powerful tool for sustainable change.
